Fresh Ginger Tea

Fresh ginger relieves nausea, vomiting, morning sickness, menstrual cramps, suppressed menstruation, bronchitis, body aches, stops coughing, spasms, flu symptoms without fever (wind-cold), and “cold stomach”.

You can purchase fresh organic ginger at the grocery store. I’ve also found a great deal at Costco! 


Temperature: Slightly Warm

Flavor: Acrid

Organs: Lung, Spleen, Stomach

Actions: Benefits digestion, transforms phlegms, clears damp

Caution: Do not use if you experience spontaneous sweating, heat from yin deficiency, or if you feel very hot. 


Ingredients

  • 1 inch Fresh Ginger, peeled

  • 8 oz Hot Water

Preparations

  1. Cut 1 inch long knob of fresh ginger.

  2. Peel and slice ginger and add to tea cup.

  3. Boil water and add to tea cup.

  4. Let steep for 5-10 minutes.
