Reishi Hot Chocolate
A delightful hot chocolate that supports the heart, liver, and lungs. Reishi (Ganoderma, Ling Zhi) nourishes deficiencies that may cause cough, wheezing, insomnia, anxiety, and poor digestion. This sweet and bitter tonic is the perfect way to end your day. The classic texts say long-term consumption may lighten the body, prevent aging, and extend one’s life. There have been many legends in cultures linking Reishi to longevity.
You can purchase Four Sigmatic Cacao Mix with Reishi at Sprouts or order online at Four Sigmatic, Thrive Market, or Amazon.
Temperature: Neutral
Flavor: Sweet, bitter
Organs: Heart, Lungs, Liver
Actions: Calms the spirit, supplements qi, nourishes the blood
Ingredients
1 packet Four Sigmatic Cacao Mix with Reishi
8 oz Dairy-Free Milk
1/2 tsp Vanilla
Optional: 1/2 tsp sweetener (honey, maple syrup, or monk fruit)
Preparations
Warm milk to the desired temperature.
Add a packet of cacao/ reishi mix, vanilla, and sweetener to a blender (I use the Nutribullet) to warm milk.
Pour ingredients into a blender and blend on high for about 10 seconds. Blending gets rid of any chunks of powder and makes the milk frothy! Definitely worth the extra step! If you don’t want to blend just stir well until incorporated.
Pour into a mug and enjoy!
